is the Buttered Biscuit open for dining in as of today 8/5/2020?
yummy food.. nice staff
I was so mad, I went to the OHP in Puyallup. They changed their recipe to have peanut oil in most of their speciality and non speciality pancakes. To my understanding, they add the oil themselves and wouldn't make a batch to omit the oil.So I came to the buttered biscuit and they are so awesome! She gave me the menu and said that they use a soy blend, not a peanut blend and they are working towards becoming a nut free restaurant because a big population of her customers have so many allergies. We use to come here until my husband and I learned of my multiple food allergies. This lady saved the day!I should also add that the specialty pancakes I was looking for was gluten free. That's how great this was, plus they had a few more available options for breakfast plates then most places that do offer gluten free meals.
MoreIts a really charming place, once you get pass the initial musky air of the aged building. After a few minutes in, its fine. The service is top notch. The variety is wide with some Great choices. Our beverages never ran dry and they made sure we had everything we needed. For a non local, its kind of a tricky place to fine. But if you do, its got my vote of Approval! Enjoy. And Keep up the Good Job!!
MoreI absolutely love this restaurant. The cornbread is very good but not the star of the show. Their chicken fried steak and gravy is the cream of the crop. You can tell a cook knows what he’s doing when the gravy is delicious. Sure, the portions are huge and it’s definitely not healthy for you but with a name like “buttered biscuit” what did you think you were going to get served. Every time I’m in town I have to order food from here.
MoreGreat establishment! They really know how to cook breakfast and more importantly they know how to hire stellar staffing, remarkable service. I've been here many times and never disappointed. Get anything with the S.O.S. sauce would be my personal recommendation. Also the French toast cinnamon bun is super good. Fyi portions are rather large.
MoreA family favorite for homemade comfort food. We eat here and the location in Bonney Lake regularly. It’s always awesome! Love the SOS. The country gravy is crazy good!
MoreGood place to grab some breakfast. The place has a cool vibe/decor. We went sunday at 6am so they just opened. Coffee was good. Wish they had flavored creamer. Our server was great. We had a few different types of omelets, eggs benedict, bacon and hashbrowns. Plenty of parking that early in the morning.
MoreAlways a pleasure eating here!! Each time we bring in a new person these folks go out of their way to make it a great experience. Special shout-out to Leanne!! Brought in my folks for the first time and she made sure they left happy. Thank you, Leanne!!If you love great comfort food and lots of it, this place has you covered.
MoreI love this place!! I am always greeted by freindly, personable staff. Had Breakfast for lunch from here today. It was everything I'd dreamed it would be. Made my day!! I highly recommend this lil' Mom&Pop diner!! It is what America is all about!! :) <3
MoreGet ready for HUGE portions! This restaurant has an extensive menu of comfort food at a reasonable price. They serve breakfast all day and have a very friendly staff. There is plenty of seating and the booths have wide seats which you'll need after your giant meal. I ordered the "Don't be a Chicken" with Gramma eggs (picture attached).
MoreWhat a great find, excellent food and lots of it! Place was fairly busy but the service was really good. You definitely have to go eat breakfast here! And I enjoyed the Seahawks theme on the menu!!
MoreGood food, generous portions! They have 2 large dining areas, upstairs and downstairs with a variety of table sizes. As we were leaving, they were setting up for a party of 25, so they can handle both large & small groups. The atmosphere is cute, but subtle, not overly cutesy or super elegant, perfect for breakfast. You can even get a window table & watch the trains go by, it's almost like a part of the ambiance! The pancakes looked huge and the corned beef hash seemed to be freshly made, rather than the type most restaurants serve, which comes from a can. The potatoes were also freshly prepared. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Go for a nice, filling & leisurely breakfast.
MoreRidiculously amazing. This place has awesome bites and Bloody Mary's. Go there. (Like today.)The portions are large. Even splitting a scramble was bigger than what 2 people (who eat normal portions) could devour. The flavor of the scramble was so well layered.
MoreYes, yes and YES! No frills here. Not a fancy place and I love that. Just good food. And good service. You will not leave here hungry. I don't usually like cornbread but this places cornbread is from heaven and the butter they put on it. Lemme just say ask for extra and thank me later. I would definitely recommend trying this place out, especially if your a breakfast fan, and I will be back! The sever threw away the cornbread I wanted to take home and when I told him he went and made me a new one for the road. The gravy was so good and savory. It has yummy sausage all up in it! Bacon thick and delicious!
MoreHuge portions. Super good food. Lil slow on a Sunday morning. But it was worth the wait. The biscuits are championship level.
MoreI have never ever ever had a bad experience here. Probably one of my all-time favorite restaurants ever and the owners are so kind and sweet
MoreOrdered via delivery, I was disappointed with the eggs Benedict and side of bacon. Bacon was undercooked and limp , eggs were over cooked and hard boiled (which admittedly isn't helped by having the food delivered). The ratio of the eggs Benedict was way off due to a huge portion of bread that made the dish really heavy. Hollandaise sauce tasted like it was from a mix. They're was a lot of quantity for your buck, but unfortunately it wasn't cooked well. Each portion could feed 2 people easily.
MoreWow I'm delightfully full!!! What an awesome place!! Good food and friendly staff! A lady at the counter noticed I wasn't comfortable with the draft from the door and came over and offered us another table. Very sweet.
MoreTHE BEST BREAKFAST PLACE I'VE BEEN TO HANDS DOWN! The don't be a chicken chicken fried steak is the best I've had by far and is enough to share. The bloody Mary was huge and their cornbread with honey butter was delicious. Make your life better by getting your moneys worth....go there!!
MoreThe wife and I love to indulge here every now and then. I highly recommend the "Don't be a Chicken". It is a delicious combo of breakfast food. The cornbread and their butter is so bomb. Always get good service and good food here.
MoreCame in tonight (2-28-19) to a shockingly empty restaurant. It was peaceful compared to the normal hustle and bustle of mornings here. We ordered a couple Rubens and a don't be a chicken. Everything was delicious and huge! Would give them 10 stars if I could. The wait staff is so friendly and remembers us every time we come in. Best home cooked food in the Puget sound area!
MoreAMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE from joanne (i believe that was out servers mane im sorry if i got it wrong) and the YUMMIEST breakfast ever!
MoreThe Buttered Biscuit is always offers a wide range of down-home style comfort foods that will both soothe and delight. With drinks served in Mason jars and food made with love, this is the sort of neighborhood restaurant sure to become a family favorite, especially with their sure to please, something for everyone menu. Whether you want an amazing any-time-of-day breakfast, enough shrimp and grits to feed an army (I'm still dreaming about those, by the way) or some of the best chicken and waffles you've ever had, you can find it here. And if you like cornbread, look no further. Try the Buttered Biscuit. You won't be sorry.
MoreWasn't my favorite. Appreciate all the hard work and good service just wont be returning because there food wasn't worth the money I paid sadly.
MoreGreat breakfast restaurant. I live in Seattle but make my trips to Puyallup include a stop in Sumner to dine in the Buttered Biscuit. They have limited seating due to Corona virus. Staff goes extra steps to ensure a safe and pleasant meal.
MoreSumner location open! Good hearty breakfast. Cornbread big but still not anything to write home about. We had the chicken fried steak with SOS gravy. Crispy, done right! Gravy was good, not too salty. Brought home enough for a second meal.
MoreJust to be fair they get this rating based off the way we were treated by the staff and not the quality of the food. Food was more of a 3 star rating. The one thing that I can't stand is a rude staff, and that what they have here. Fro. The moment we walked in to the moment we left they were rude. Unfriendly bunch of miserable looking help. Food was not prepared to our liking and when we asked about it we were met with Unfriendly behavior and not even a polite we can re make it for you or fix it. Safe to say we will not be recommending them to anyone.
MoreThe food was super good. Inside the place needed some TLC but it really had a home like feeling there. The corn bread was AMAZING best corn bread I have ever had!! I loved the Mason jar cups too.
MoreHonestly... A breakfast restaurant for people who love to eat. I am not one of those. HUGE portions. Butter on everything. Weird menu with interesting entrees but not done great. Expensive for mediocre food. Probably won't go back. Staff is friendly. Wait times are a while on a busy day.
MoreThere's no words to describe how amazing the food is here. The cornbread is just absolutely amazing , and their Italian sodas are just delicious. The burgers here oh boy you'll have to try this place out.
MoreHad the Rubens, its huge and delicious. Nice customer service in an old funky building. If we weren't in the middle of a military transfer I'd be back
MoreThe food is amazing and the scenery is nice inside. If you come on Sundays, be there early otherwise it'll be very busy and hard to get a table. Great for family dining. And it's breakfast served all day
MoreOMG! The food is amazing! The staff is friendly! Great music too! Love it!
Awesome place, super big house made food, giant portions. Nice people and staff. I will be back.
MoreWow, this place is disgusting. Walking in we expected a bit of a greasy spoon since other reviews said it looked a bit decrepit but the food was good. That was not at all what I experienced. The floors were disgusting and sticky, the tables all looked dirty. In fact the table next to us had dirty plates on it and it stayed that way for the entire 30-40 min. All the way up until we walked out because our bread was MOLDY. Don't come here if you value your health. I ordered a cup of coffee and it was old, cold, and burnt. I have had better coffee at 2am in a gas station. I won't be coming back to this restaurant ever and i wouldn't recommend anyone dare eat here. It was such a. Disappointment that I don't even know what else to say.
MoreI always have the freshest and most delicious food here. They have never disappointed me. So hard to choose every time. So much great food.
MoreWhat a great place! Good food, and HUGE portions! Nice atmosphere, and friendly service. I had 'The Don't Be A Chicken' (Awesome) and my wife had the SOS. We both took home portions large enough for another meal. It was our first time, and we'll be back!
MoreGood food, service was friendly but we didn't receive our toast until amost half way through our breakfast.
MoreAmazing home feeling food, great service. Never disappointing:)
Very good. Hugh portions. My husband's first to go box! First eat out since March - GREAT CHOICE. Olivia was awesome.
MoreVery busy but hey, its Mother's Day. Always great food. Very friendly staff. Thanks guys!
MoreLove their food. Staff is super friendly.
If your looking for some good home cooking and friendly people. Look no further. I love this place.
MoreBig portions and yummy homemade comfort food.
I love this place. My favorite. Awesome food. They give you large portions. Yummy corn bread. The wait staff are very sweet and helpful.
MoreThe biscuit here is delicious and their menu has a little bit of everything for everyone.
MoreI thought it was unusual my friends and I got only cornbread to share, whereas all the other tables around us got their own cornbread, including kids. We did order our own entrees.
MoreBest cornbread ever! The food is delicious! Great service and super friendly staff! Love this place!
MoreFirst time eating here and I LOVED IT. Ask for Olivia! She is an amazing server who helped to make our breakfast here more enjoyable. The food and portions are well worth the prices. Their strawberry mimosa alone is enough for me to go back there for!
